Our August Indie Team of The Month is….

Our August Indie Team of the Month is Several People and Seats!

This group of powerhouse team were known for their dominance of ImprovBostons cage match. Consisting of talent from Harold Night, Faceoff, and other incredible inside groups this is not a team to miss.

To sweeten the pot even further we are supporting 2 charities this month! Both SURJ Boston, to support their work of organizing, educating and mobilizing white people to get involved and stand-up for racial justice, and the Transgender Emergency Fund, providing Critical assistance for low-income and homeless transgender people living in Massachusetts.

Plus every donation is matched between the two charities. $5 to SURJ means $5 to the Transgender Emergency Fund. Its like you can be two generous people who enjoy comedy and supporting their community.

Our FIrst Show Back Rocked!

Hello! Sunday night was our first show back and I'm happy to report it was fantastic we raised $421 ($842 with with the match) for Black Lives Matter Boston and as expected Classic Sly , Fortnight Improv and Energy BOYZ killed it, and I just barely managed to host the show without crying tears of happiness. (internally I was).

If you missed our show, that is understandable if slightly disappointing but you have 3 more chances to make it up to me and your fellow performers.

Here's a run down of our upcoming shows:

July 11th 7pm: Feat Classic Sly, Party of One, Franklin Arts Studio, Fortnight,

July 18th 7pm Feat: Party of One, NGBF, Night Job Sketch Co, Lyke Me Please

July 25th 7pm: feat. Walrus Party, SUZZY, Tailored Shorts, and Bear Skin Rug

All shows take place at Remnant Brewing and we couldn't be happier about that.

At all show we will still be collecting and matching donations for Black Lives Matter Boston, to support their mission of bringing racial justice to Boston and beyond and reforming out local justice system.

We are still rebuilding this community and I want to contribute to the momentum that will get us back to more opportunities for stage time for the wonderfully talented indie improv community.

I always seen the best performances come out of the indie community, people are allowed to act a perform in such unique style that you wouldn't see inside a traditional theater system and its my favorite thing. However, it's unfortunately been mostly at a standstill for months (kudos to those who can perform online, that takes talent and dedication), and OnPoint shows are just the beginning of revitalizing live improv comedy. I will do everything I can to give you the audiences our teams deserve and I hope you will come out and support your fellow performers.

Plus I miss all of you and I want to see your faces again.

Matching All donations to ImprovBoston this Weekend!

Hello Wonderful people of the internet, we are proud to announce that we are sponsoring ImprovBoston this weekend. That's right we love improv so much even when its not us putting it on we are willing to sponsor it.
Real talk, most of our performers and producers have come up through ImprovBoston classes, and this theater was the foundation for OnPoint in its current incarnation. They have given us space for our Indie Team Jams, many performers from IB have performed on our stage and they have been incredibly supportive of our work. They have done incredible work in the Boston area including performing at Children’s Hospitals, creating Anti-Bullying programs, and providing joy and laughter to the Cambridge Area for 35 years.
We will be matching all donations given this weekend up to $2000 dollars to do our part to help this awesome theater stay open.

So just like our shows take your opportunity to double your impact and enjoy some comedy for a cause this weekend at https://www.twitch.tv/improvbostonlive see their full online schedule here:

Our First Online Experience

As our April shows draw to a close we want to thank everyone willing to participate in our experiment on twitch. Together we raised over $500 for United Way of Massachusetts Bay COVID-19 Family Support Fund across all three shows. which overall may just be a drop in the ocean in terms of what is needed to help the community in this time of crisis, but we are happy to contribute what we can.

We want o thank Tailored Shorts, Bear Skin Rug and Pittsburgh for performing with us and bringing in the crowds we also want to thank every single audience member who came out and donated.. We want to continue out mission of providing Comedy for a Cause and supporting our community especially in this troubling time.

In addition to our show donations we have contributed $400 to Mutual Aid Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts (MAMAS, https://mutualaidmamas.com/) in donations to individuals in need. If you are looking to give more directly, we recommend checking them out.

In the near future we want to take advantage of the fact that we are purely online in near future and do some out reach to groups in other cities and have them perform on our streams, So if you know any groups outside of the Boston/Somerville area that want to perform on Twitch with us have them contact us at OnpointImprov@gmail.com

Our Shows in May will be on the 10th, 17th, and 24th. At this time we are skipping over a our traditional May 3rd show to give us more time to resolve technical issues. There may be a replacement stream on that date but it is still in the planning stages.

If your team is interested in performing with us is May fill out this form
